CAGR Calculator
Turn returns earned over different periods into one compound annual growth rate.
Annualized return (CAGR)
+14.87%
e.g. 1,000 growing to 2,000 over 5 years → CAGR 14.87%
How CAGR is calculated
CAGR is (ending value ÷ starting value) raised to (1 ÷ years), minus 1. It is the steady yearly rate that would have produced the same end result, compressing the ups and downs into a single smooth number.
LDBD's leaderboard metric shares the same annualizing idea, but instead of plain CAGR it annualizes the directional log return and averages it.
